In yet another attempt to keep the breakbeat scene alive, I'm throwing this contest to get y'all workin' with them breaks and grooves to create the funkiest breakbeat track in the summer 2002!

So breakers around the world...get your acts together and kick some ol'skool breakbeat ass!

Price??? Well...mostly the honour of being the no. 1 breaker in 2K2 and I'll send the winner some really cool sample cds!

All trax will be reviewed and rated at the end of the contest!

Deadline: July 1. 2002!

How to Compete!

Mail me your breakbeat tunes in XM, MODS, IT, (all modules) or mp3-format (modules preferred) or just send me an url from where I can download it. Or you can upload it to my FTP site:

Place you track under the folder Contest02 (Some sample-goodies can also be found on this ftp!)

Everybody can compete! Skills doesn't matter - its all about the style!

Along with your track please inform me of your music experience (years of experience) since this will be taken into consideration! Also you can feel free to give me infos about your website - group ect.

Once I have received your track it will be uploaded to my website!

Rules!

Rule no. 1 is to break it down! Everything with fly groovy beats are excepted! Triphop, Drum & Bass, Nu Skool - Old' Skool Breaks, Funky breaks... No house trance club trax in this contest!
If you are mailing me you tune - please don't exceed 5 mb (zipped) in filesize.
No obvious ripoffs and remixes are alowed! Since this is a breakbeat contest and using samples is all this style is about - moderate sampling is ofcuz allowed!
All trax should be in my possession one day before the deadline - Sunday on June 30 2002

Rating

Ratings will be given to all tracks July 1. 2002.

There will be given rate between 1 to 5 records indicating the quality and originality of the production. Unlike most other music contest, the production skills are not the most important - what matters is the groovy funky sound. Even if you do use loops you can still win this one if your track rocks!!! The records represent the following:

Are given to poor unoriginal productions.

Are given to solid but below average productions.

Are given to average quality productions with a lack of originality.

Are given to the supercilious productions that have it all, or to original innovative tracks!

Are given to true masters that have the ability to combine originality and quality from a synthesis.
